A Minnesota Horse Council grant is helping the Mower County Fair create a better experience for horse exhibitors, volunteers and spectators at its recent fair this year and for years to come.

With support from MHC, the fair recently constructed a new storage building at its horse arena, providing much-needed space for equipment, supplies and materials used during horse shows and other equine events.

The building is already making a difference at the Austin, Minn., fairgrounds.

“The building has already proven to be a valuable addition to our fairgrounds and will benefit horse exhibitors, volunteers and fair participants for many years to come,” said Denise Schneider, Mower County Fairgrounds Manager.

The improvement is about more than storage. By investing in practical infrastructure, the grant is helping the fair maintain a safe, functional and enjoyable environment for the people who participate in and support its horse programs.

A Visible Investment in Minnesota’s Equine Community

The fair has also installed permanent signage on the building recognizing the Minnesota Horse Council’s support. MHC will be recognized during horse events and shows as well, helping exhibitors, participants and spectators see how investments in local projects can strengthen Minnesota’s broader equine community.

It’s one example of how Minnesota Horse Council grants can turn local needs into lasting improvements that support horses and horse people across the state.
