Call for 2027 MHC Board of Director Candidates

Minnesota Horse Council members in good standing are invited to submit their interest for a Board of Director position by Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026.

We encourage those from the race horse industry, those teaching in equine science and veterinary service, those involved with draft horses and individuals involved in businesses that make products or provide services for the equine community to serve a three-year term on the Board of Directors.

Candidates must submit a brief 1-page bio, summary of qualifications and current photo to mn.horsecouncil@comcast.net and new candidates must also accept the nomination in writing. Your information will be included in official election materials distributed to members.

If you’re interested in serving on the board, we welcome you to attend our monthly board meetings — typically held the 2nd Tuesday each month (except August) — to meet current members and learn more about how the board operates.

Four of the 14 MHC directors are up for re-election, including Karen Clark, Judy Jensen, Brook Matthiesen and Doug Persian.
